His impressions from participating in World Masters Games 2017 Auckland
It is known that many people starts weightlifting shortly after started working, because the rule is simple. Shuhei Iwasaki played weightlifting when he was a student, and after fifty years later he started weightlifting once again when he retired. Followed by the previous World Masters Games 2013 Torino, he participated in this World Masters Games 2017 Auckland. He said “My dream is to become a world champion. And I am eager to achieve greater results by resuming to compete in weightlifting in the world.” So, he challenged WMG 2017 Auckland.
The result was a silver medal. He said that he gained a great sense of accomplishment by continuing making efforts without giving up on his own dream.

The enthusiasm for World Masters Games 2021 Kansai
Mr. Iwasaki will turn 80 years old in 2021. The World Masters Games is a comprehensive sports competition which is open for anyone who is over the age of 30 can participate, and there are no qualifying tournaments except for some competitions. However, weightlifting is one of the few competitions that needs to go through qualifying tournaments due to World Masters Games is also the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Masters Weightlifting Championships.
Mr. Iwasaki talked about enthusiasm for WMG 2021 Kansai, “If I am able to participate in the WMG 2021 Kansai, I will try my very best to show the best power of my life to make my dream come true!”
Mr. Iwasaki is one of the WMG 2021 Kansai PR supporters at Auckland Games. He also worn an original T-shirts made for WMG 2021 Kansai to conduct PR activities at the competition venue.
