Sport Overview

Postponement has been decided for the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.
The new dates are being arranged.
Please note that the followings are the information before the postponement was confirmed.

Sailing involves racing on the water while performing various techniques. Yachts are mainly driven by aerodynamic force that is generated by wind flowing along the sails. A team consists of either one or two people depending on the event. Each team sails around buoys placed along the course a predetermined number of times and in a predetermined order, and then heads to the finish line. Each yacht’s place in the race is added to compile a final score, and the lowest scoring team wins.

Eligibility

Competitors must be members of each member national authority of World Sailing.

Age Requirement

Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31st December 1992)
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31st December 2022.
For example, if you are 45 during Games time but have turned 46 by 31st December 2022, you would compete in the 46+ age category.
