Sport Overview

Postponement has been decided for the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.
The new dates are being arranged.
Please note that the followings are the information before the postponement was confirmed.

A half marathon is an athletics discipline held on public roads, rather than in an athletics stadium. The course is 21.0975km long, half the length of a marathon course. Half marathons are popular among non-professional runners in Japan, and numerous competitions are held nationwide in the autumn and winter season.

Eligibility

(1) Participants will be asked to declare their personal record.
(2) Participants with visual impairment must be accompanied by a guide runner(s)

Age Requirement

Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 18th May 1992)
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 18th May 2022 – the first day of Athletics competition at the Games. For example, if you turn 40 by the first day of competition, you would compete in the 40+ age category.
