Volleyball involves two teams of six players hitting a ball over a net. Volleyball is the only ball game where players must not drop the ball, and the ball must be hit back to the opponent’s court within three touches (excluding blocks). The basic procedure is to receive a serve, toss the ball and spike the ball into the opponent’s court, and each team takes turns in offence and defence. As well as demanding superior skills on the part of individual players, the game requires solid teamwork and cooperation for understanding and sharing strategies.

About Grade classification
　A: Competition Division
　　* Athletes at the level of the competition (playing at the regional or higher level tournament)
　　* It is recommended that teams consisted of international players or players active at the prefectural (representative) level enter in this division.
　B: Recreation Division
　　* Beginner level
　　* It is recommended that teams where you want to enjoy the game without seeking competitiveness enter in this division.

In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31st December 2022.
For example, if you are 39 during Games time but have turned 40 by 31st December 2022, you would compete in the 40+ age category.
