Flying Disc(Ultimate)
Sport Overview
Postponement has been decided for the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.
The new dates are being arranged.
Please note that the followings are the information before the postponement was confirmed.
Five-on-five ultimate games are played on a court 68m long and 23m wide. Players throw a plastic disc to each other and win a point when a member catches it in the end zone. The name “ultimate” derives from the fact that, unlike ball games, players need to have skills and extensive physical endurance to leverage the superior flying characteristics of the disc, and that the game adopts a self-judging system based on a principle of fair play known as the Spirit of the Game. As physical contact is not allowed, flying disc is one of the few team sports where men and women can play together. Flying disc is a sport that even people in the older generation can enjoy. It is a sport approved by the IOC and IPC and is played in 86 countries in five continents.
