Sport Overview

Postponement has been decided for the World Masters Games 2021 Kansai.
The new dates are being arranged.
Please note that the followings are the information before the postponement was confirmed.

Baseball is played by two teams each consisting of nine players, and the objective is to score as many runs as possible. The teams switch offence and defence positions when three outs are recorded. The team with the higher score after switching offence and defence positions nine times (nine innings) wins the game.

　* All teams will compete regardless of the gender.
　* One player can participate only in one category.

　Grade A: Premier (including players who have competed in national or international competitions)
　Grade B: Open (players who play in regional tournaments and club tournaments)
　* The grade of competition (level) is an approximate estimation for forming a team.

　・The age of youngest registered team member determines which age category the team will compete in.
　・A team may make entry into a younger age category.
　・Men's and women's teams can participate.

Age Requirement

30+: Minimum age is 30 (born on or before 31st December 1992)
45+: Minimum age is 45 (born on or before 31st December 1977)
In line with the sport-specific rules, an athlete must compete in their designated age group, with your age determined as at 31st December 2022. For example, if you are 44 during Games time but have turned 45 by 31st December 2022, you would compete in the 45+ age category.

Sports Equipment Rental

Helmets can be rented for the teams which apply for renting during registration process. Beside helmets, in principle, competition equipment will not be rented, and related equipment will be sold at the managers’ meeting and at each venue.
