This article is based on the coverage conducted in July 2021 when a state of emergency was not declared in Nara Prefecture. In principle, the coverage was conducted taking counter measures against Covid-19 (to wear a mask, etc.) recommended at that time.
Hello, everyone! I’m a trainer, Ayaka YAMAOKA, and I love my hometown. In part 2 of the series, I would like to introduce more about “Nara Palace Site Historical Park”, a place where everyone in Nara, my hometown, can enjoy fitness freely. I’m going to show you “Suzaku Gate” for solo training!
Looks like it is connected to a holy universe; Suzaku Gate at Nara Palace Site Historical Park
To start with, I’m going to show you the spot while I train around my hip joint doing a walking lunge. This Suzaku Gate is newly reconstructed, didn’t exist when I was a child.
When its construction work started, I started following it as a local, like, “Nara Palace Site is over there isn’t it? Is this place Nara Palace Site, too? What are they building…!?” I remember the time it was unveiled. It was so divine that I was speechless.
The palace site used to be a field where kids run around in the daytime when I was a child, but now it has a subtle and profound atmosphere at night and transformed to a place for people of all ages. Good thing is it is open 24 hours a day and they have no entrance fee.
Standing here, I felt as if I were in the world of computer game and I was zoning out, but my blood test result of checkup is the reality. So, I enjoyed escaping from reality for now, let’s try “light exercise we can do alone”!
Found it! Training spot, “street in front of Suzaku Gate (Nijo ooji)”
So, this is the training spot I found in Suzaku Gate area! A wide straight street in front of Suzaku Gate. Roadside lights illuminate at night creating magical atmosphere.
Try this! Jog & dash
It’s straightforward. You run through this wide straight street changing speed like, jog, dash, jog, dash, jog… This is a training you can try relaxed and easy to continue, so I would recommend it to those who find running hard or those who tend to get bored while jogging. Of course, please do a warm-up properly, and then try this exercise paying attention to other visitors so as not to bother them.
In hot weather, when you feel out of breath even a little bit, drink water and take sodium to prevent heatstroke. By the time you get to the end of the path, you may feel good even if you are tired. How about trying this after school or work two to three times a week? Of course, take it easy if you have pain or when you’re tired. Please be aware of your health and enjoy exercise for your fitness level.
(* If you are seeing your doctor regularly, consult him/her beforehand for your safety; how many times, how often and how hard you should exercise. Please also note that I do not take any responsibility or liability for any change to your health condition caused by the training shown in this article.)
